About

Situated near Albi in the Tarn, Gaillac is renowned for its 1000 year old vineyards. In 1860, Jean-Pierre Termes bequeathed to his son Clément , a vineyard situated at the foot of the Church at Montaigut, a former bastide that was rebuilt on the lisloise plain during the religious wars and became Lisle sur Tarn. Clement Termes developed a real passion for the vineyard and wine and decided to build a wine cellar in 1868. It was only several year later that he built the Château. He shipped his wines thoughout France in casks. Most of his clients were clergymen. Each generation has added something of its own. In 1970, François David joined his family Domaine. His youth and his passion for wineyards and wine has brought renewed vigour to the business: New extensions and improvements to the cellar, partial renewal of the wines and an assertive approach to quality and commerce. With the arrival of new techniques the wine cellar and bottling area have been modernised. The latest technology has been introduced to improve the quality of the wines.
