About
Clos Malverne has been in the Pritchard family since 1969, but they only began making wine on the property in 1986. With many members of the family involved in the estate, it has grown from just a wine producing property to a Winelands destination. IP Smit has been the winemaker since 2015 and continues the very important tradition of basket pressing all the red wines – making it one of the very few wineries in South Africa to still use basket presses. The wines thus remain hand crafted and unique.
