Home to Damião de Góis, Portuguese humanist of the 16th century and a close friend of Erasmus of Rotterdam, and later to Luís de Freitas Branco, distinguished conductor and composer. In Monte dos Perdigões cellar, art blends with the science of wine, always with noble materials. Handpicked grapes ferment in French oak barrels and in Alentejo marble tanks. Helped by mechanical pressure and crushing equipment, they increase the extraction of tannins while allowing a notable aromatic expression. After an adequate aging stage in half-barrels, they’re carefully bottled.
