Ian and Wendy Hollick planted their first vines in 1975. From these plantings, in 1983 one of Coonawarra's iconic wine brands was born. Forty years later, the name Hollick is synonymous with quality.
The legacy of Ian Hollick as a viticultural pioneer in the region sees Hollick Estates not only producing the classic Coonawarra varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Riesling and Chardonnay, but also “pushing the boundaries” with a fresh new wave of wines such as Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Barbera, thanks to plantings of non-traditional varieties which Ian undertook with both foresight and the desire to continue to explore all the opportunities the unique climatic and soil conditions the region continues to offer.
Hollick Estates wines are now widely distributed throughout Australia and exported to key markets around the globe.
