Lourensford Wine Estate is situated at the foot of the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains. This property is steeped in history and dates back to the 1700’s. Christo Wiese, Cape industrialist and retail magnate purchased this estate in 1998. Dramatic changes were to follow in the next few years. The first plantings of vines began in 2000 and the construction of the unique winery began in 2002. The magnificent soils and diverse micro-climates create the ideal terroir for world-class wines.
