About
More than five generations came before him, so by the time Antoni Roig was a teenager he already knew he wanted to be a winemaker. In the year 2000 he decided to found Mas Llunes to carry on the family tradition, but at the same time to start a new, modern way of winemaking in the region. Today the winery has 75 hectares, some 118-year-old vines and the recognition of several international competitions. We only make wines with our own grapes and we mainly work with indigenous varieties – Grenache and Cariñena – which give our wines the personality of Empordà: fresh, concentrated, mineral wines. The century marches on and now, Gemma, Antoni’s daughter, has joined this project to add a seventh generation to the winemaking tradition.
