A legacy from ancient times, combining continuity and modernity: The MURI-GRIES monastery winery is a perfect example of the centuries-old relationship between wine-growing and monastery life, and today it is more fascinating than ever with its striking presence in the heart of Bolzano – not to mention its wines. The 35 hectares of monastery vineyards offer an outstanding terroir, with excellent soils and privileged climatic conditions. The indigenous Lagrein flourishes in the Bolzano valley basin while the vineyards in Appiano are ideal for the flavoursome white wines and some of the reds.
