About
Pago del Vicario is a family and agricultural business following the tradition during last 50 years, currently with modern technology and facilities. The group consists of three different wineries spread throughout the Centre, the North and the South of Spain.
-PAGO DEL VICARIO is located in Ciudad Real (Castilla), in the centre of Spain. By the banks of the river Guadiana there are 130 hectares of single vineyard with Tempranillo, Cabernet sauvignon, Graciano, Garnacha, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Chadonnay and Sauvignon blanc. The wines we produce here are blends, excepting a rosé made 100% with Petit Verdot, a red wine of Petit Verdot called Bancal del Río with 8 months in French oak barrel, a Blanc de noir produced 100 % of Tempranillo and a sweet 100 % Merlot. Next to the winery there are a four stars Hotel and a Restaurant to promote our gastronomy and wine activities such as winery and vineyard visits, wine tastings…
-SOTO DEL VICARIO (Bierzo D.O.), is placed in Cacabelos (León province), in the north of Spain. There are 19 hectares of Mencía and Godello varieties. The wines we elaborate in Soto del Vicario are a clear reflect from the Bierzo variety grapes: Go de Godello (a white wine made 100% with Godello), Men de Mencía, made 100% with Mencía grape, and Men Selección, another red produced with Mencía 100% but in this case the grapes came from a selection from old vines.
-PAGO DEL MARE NOSTRUM, Almería (in the south of Spain). It is the highest vineyard from the Continental Europe, placed at 1500 meters altitude, a total of 7 hectares of Pinot noir, Tempranillo, Cabernet sauvignon and Merlot. We produce two wines in Almería, 1500H coupage and 1500 H Pinot noir.
