Piemaggio is an estate located in Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation. The most historical part of the estate dates back to the XII-XIII century and some old documents shows the presence of a small church (a Pieve) in the old times. Today the estate has 58 hectares in total between vineyards, woods, olive trees, wine cellar and office. The 12 hectares of vineyards are in the area of Le Fioraie, one of the most prestigious area of the Chianti Classico appellation, where Sangiovese stands out for its elegance and ageing potential.
