"Intense and powerful, this doesn't have the impeccable balance of the 40 Year White this issue—the spirits show a little more—but it has more power and complexity. Overall, they are both lovely, but I'd prefer this. The more interesting contest is between this and the 1970 Colheita. In the long run, as they both continue to age in barrel (and both will be released again), this might prove to be the better wine—it's fresher and more powerful."
