The Varosa Valley is the birthplace of Murganheira sparkling wines. Founded over 60 years ago, Murganheira become a leading producer of proven quality traditional method sparkling wines. The prestige of wines from the Lamego region dates back to the 16th century and this was left in no doubt by the production of the sparkling wines of Raposeira, a company founded over 110 years ago.
