Vineyard
This Carmenere comes from Las Garzas vineyard, located in the Palmilla, Huique sector. This vineyard corresponds to a small producer which carefully manages the field creating an excellent grape quality, of great character and consistency. We have a long-term contract with them. We try to make a wine with a lot of fruit that represents both its strain and where it comes from.
Characteristics of the vintage: The temperatures in the Colchagua Valley during the final stage of maturation were low, causing a slow accumulation of sugars, making wines with alcoholic graduation that does not exceed 13.3 ° GL. This oscillation of cold nights and moderate temperatures during the day made the Carmenere with a higher concentration of pyrazine, which accentuates its natural and characteristic aroma of green paprika. The soils are of clay loam type of colluvial origin. The yield is handled at around 10 tons per hectare. The Carmenere grapes were planted in 1974 with a trellis system with irrigation by laying.
