About Thokozani The business operations consist of the Thokozani wines, launched in September 2005; Thokozani Conferences, which subsumed the prior conference business at Diemersfontein; and the accommodation complex, i.e. the Thokozani suites. Ownership structure (1) Diemersfontein Staff: 80% Thokozani started from a 30% ownership to being officially the proud shareholders of 80% of the company. Thokozani also owns the conferencing business on Diemersfontein, and this also includes accommodation facilities. (4 Star) Staff members’ participation is by direct shareholding in Thokozani Staff Holding (Pty) Ltd. The intention is to allow shareholders to obtain the conventional rewards of profit share during their employment years; and to make provision for capital gain for each of their years of service. Board representation is by Denise Stubbs , Me Hilary Brinkhuis and Mr Cheslin Prins. (2) Diemersfontein Investments – 20% Diemersfontein is represented on the board by David Sonnenberg, the Owner and Director of Diemersfontein. David’s decision to retain a share reflects his wish to remain committed and responsible, by retaining a personal interest in the growth and success of the company.
