Nestled at the foothills of the Simonsberg lies Vrede en Lust. The history of the Estate is a story of passion and vision, which goes back to 1688, when it was founded by Flemish merchant Jacques de Savoye. The Buys family started a new era in 1996, and today this breathtakingly modern wine farm, a family owned and managed wine business, is a tribute to its noble roots and building on a 320 year old foundation. The name Vrede en Lust is derived from the Dutch “Peace and Eagerness”.
