Description

The second vintage of this lip smacking wine has leapt out of our winery right into your glass. It’s colour is still the most delicate of pinks with an even more gentle rim of pale pink rose petal. The nose is a fresh smack of redberry Pinotage fruit, begging you to enter and discover what else it has to offer on the palate. Further exploration on the nose will offer red currants with a touch of musk followed by a palate that is daringly racy with it’s fresh acidity leaving you with a tongue tingling finish. Try it with just about any food – rosé is food friendly and goes with just about anything, but if you really want to make this wine sing, a goats cheese salad with pomegranate should seal the deal. Or Ottolenghi’s seafood salad with fennel bulb and fresh lime zest. The methods used to make this wine were pretty much the same as last year. Don’t fix it if it’s not broken. The Pinotage fruit is brought into the cellar in the early mornings when it is cool to preserve the freshness in the grapes. They are then destemmed and gently crushed and the Pinotage juice and skins rest quietly for less than an hour to draw the beautiful pink colour from the skins. It is then pressed to remove the skins from the juice and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks until the wine is perfectly dry with less than 1g/l of sugar remaining. There is nothing drier and more refreshing than this. We then deliver it to you, young and fruity and full of life, ready to be cracked open at your next get together.
