About
Roman wine presses tell of the tradition of winegrowing on the Moselle. In 1465 Riesling was first mentioned on the Moselle. 500 years later Nikolaus Köwerich was born into an family, which has been in the church books of the winegrowing village since 1548. After studying viticulture in Geisenheim, he joined his parents' winery. The young viticultural engineer met a young agricultural engineer from the Eifel - she had no idea about wine and married her anyway. They have three daughters, have expanded the winery and are quite grown up.
