About
REVERCHON is a very traditional wine estate with a long history. The wine estate, which was formerly owned by the church, was privatized long ago in the year 1685 and took over by the Huguenot banking family Reverchon in the year 1921. The estate went on to become the biggest and most renowned along the Saar. In 2007 entrepreneur Hans Maret took over the estate and continues the winerys history as modern Saar traditionalist. With the monopole of the Filzener Herrenberg as well as vineyards in the Filzener Pulchen, the Ockfener Bockstein and other vineyards in Konz and Wiltingen, the estate has the perfect foundation for the production of great Saar Valley wines and sparklings. The vineyards face south or south-west with slopes between 35% and 72%. Due to the extreme slopes, the angle of the sun rays is ideal - an optimal prerequisite for the fruit development of the grapes in our vineyards. As one of the most historical wine estates of the Saar valley we are a manufactory for filigree, mineralic, saar typical and light Rieslings and Burgundies as well as highly awarded vintage sparkling wines. We attach great importance to the sustainable management of our vineyards with controlled, eco-friendly cultivation, grape picking by hand as well as gentle and natural winemaking.
