Spotlight On: Vintage / Non-Vintage Virtual Tasting
Join Wiston Estate for our Spotlight On Virtual Tasting hosted by our winemaker, Dermot Sugrue. Dermot will take a closer look at the different winemaking philosophies behind 2 of our most successful wines: Brut Non-Vintage & Vintage Cuvée.
How have the styles evolved over the years? How important is ‘House Style’ & does it even exist at Wiston? How important is Reserve Wine? Why are Vintage wines not made every year? Learn more about the history of these wines through to the current release of Brut NV & vintage Cuvée 2015, which Dermot will be tasting & discussing during the evening.
About
Nestled in the heart of England’s rolling South Downs in West Sussex, the beautiful Wiston Estate has been owned and managed by the Goring family since 1743 and is overseen today by Harry and Pip Goring. It was Pip’s long-held belief that the estate had the potential to grow high quality grapes and the 16-acre vineyard, lying on a south-facing chalk escarpment similar to Champagne, is the fruit of her dream and tenacity. Under the aegis of winemaker Dermot Sugrue, the team produces award-winning sparkling wines of exceptional purity and finesse from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
