Vinification
2014 saw small berry size resulting in dense colouration and high extract. The components were vinified separately in a mix of new and 2nd fill 300L barrels for 19 months.
Vineyard
The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc vineyards are from vineyards on Zevenwacht and the Petit Verdot and Malbec are grown on our Banghoek vineyards on Zevenrivieren.
Viticulture
The Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are all farmed on Zevenwacht. The Petit Verdot and Malbec were sourced from the Ernie Else vineyards for 2014 - the new plantings of these two grapes on Zevenrivieren to be ready for the 2015 blend.
