Grapes : 100% Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Annual Production : 30.000 bottles Plant spacing: 270 x 0.80 m Altitude: 200 meters above sea level Plants per hectare: 5.000 Exposure: South /South–West Training method: spurred cordon system Plant age: 20 years on the average Harvesting period: about 20th of September Harvesting method: grapes are handpicked into small boxes Type of terrain: sandy/clayey Yield per hectare: 7 tons. Vinification: Grapes are selected during harvesting and sorted in the winery by a vibrating table and a sorting table. Thermally controlled fermentation is made in stainless steel vats with a long maceration period of more than twenty days . Maturation: 50% of this wine is aged for 5 months in two years old French oak barrels; the remaining wine stays in steel tanks for the same time. Bottle-ageing: 4-month bottle-aging Alcoholic strength: 13% Serving temperature: 18°C – 20°C ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES Deep ruby colour to the sight. Intense, fairly complex and distinctive to the nose, with flowery hints of violet, rose and lilac, and fruity hints of ripe cherry and marasca, with spicy hues. To the mouth it is intense and long-lingering, soft, balanced with an aftertaste of ripe fruits, cherry and red currant.
