Description

Tasting note by Raymond Chan: Nose is finely packed with well-concentrated and elegantly deep, fragrant red berry fruit aromas entwined with red florals in an amalgam of aromatic fresh herbs, whole bunch stalk perfumes, nutty and spicy oak, which add to the interest. Medium-bodied, the palate has an elegant heart, a rounded core of fragrant red berry fruit entwined with lifted red florals and aromatic fresh herbs, with nuances of whole bunch stalk and nutty oak. Palate is supported by delicate tannin extraction, and background lacy acidity. Carries to a long finish of red fruits and herbs.

Even, light ruby-red colour with some garnet on the rim. Vineyard: Lime Hill Vineyard

Lime Hill Vineyard is a very special location in the Wairarapa Valley in New Zealand. It is situated on a hill east of Masterton, facing west at an optimal altitude with a wonderful panorama over the valley. The terroir consists of a heavy, clayey soil full of limestone

Maturation

A great wine with great potential for the future. Especially because of the low yields and this special soil, the wine appears very firm and closed in its youth. With a few years of maturation it opens up more and more.
