Johner Estate - New Zealand - Subtle scent of dark chocolate and almonds on a base of dark red blackberries and spices. Inviting and elegant in style with good mouthfeel and recognizable but silky tannins. Now this wine is already good to enjoy, but it gets even better with a little bottle aging.

Overall impression:
Quality: Very good
Reasons for the evaluation: Very good balance acid/tannins and ripe fruit with a nice full body. The intensity is very good with a long finish. The wine shows a nice structure with fine but a bit unripe tannins. Nice and complex. It is noticeable that it comes from cool climate.
Drinkable but still has potential
Reasons for the evaluation:The fine and well integrated tannins, which however still show a little unripeness, indicate that the wine is already fun to drink, but could well tolerate a little more bottle maturity. As well as the ripe fruit and the distinctive structure make the wine durable and at the same time ready to drink.
