Founded in 1964 by Umberto Cesari, the winery is located on the hills of Castel San Pietro, in the heart of Emilia Romagna and extends over 877 acres of vineyards. Umberto Cesari has been one of the first winemakers to strongly believe he could make high quality, long lasting Sangiovese wines in a region that was only known for the production of light and everyday drinking wines. As in 1964, today the winery continues to be based on the same values that Umberto Cesari had in mind since the beginning: respect for the environment and research for quality without compromises.
